"Sa Muvara" Hotel
The Mountain "Su Texile" is in front of Aritzo, it's a big limestone recognized as a Natural monument. On the wide distances it seems a tower
ora a castle or an ancient fort. The folk belief says that St. Efisio teached the cattolic religion to the barbaricinian people in the other side of the mountain.
.
The territory of Aritzo is extremely various: visitors can see sweet valleys covered by chestnut woods and walnut trees, steep glens, bare summits, oak woods, undergrowth and blooming bush. Fluvial sceneries are particularly suggestive. The water of the Flumendosa and of its affluents go down through the valley from the peaks of Gennargentu, hidden into wild gorges with frightening names such as “Terra segada” or “Sa Trepide e ‘s’ inferru”.
So the scenery is suggestive and uncontaminated, as the water is clear and rich of fish. There is a large number of local plants: the gentian, the ivy, the wild plum tree, the purple digitalis, the wild peony, called for its particularly beautiful blooming, “ the rose of Gennargentu”. The vegetables species are present in several Mediterranean essences and the main component is the ilex. There are also little oaks, walnut trees, brooms and hawthorns, “Croccus”.
Very thick copses of chestnut and walnut trees surround the country, while, in farer places, huge and majestic chestnut trees command respect and admiration. In the whole area there are a lot of species of orchids, some of them are very rare.
